Tsunami Band

I often work with kids in schools and other settings to help them write their own songs. Here you'll find songs from various workshops and residencies.

Tsunami Band - song lyric
by Oak Hall 1st-6th Grade Students and Monty Harper, 2004

There was a sound coming out of the sea
The music was calling to me
Then a tentacle grabbed my hand
And I was rocking underwater with the wet and wild Tsunami Band

There was a barracuda thumping the bass
And an octopus keeping the pace
Then a great white shark named Spike
Began hip hop boppin and rappin into the mike

Yo, my name is Spike
We're gonna rock the ocean floor tonight
So all you fish get on your feet
Clap your fins to the Tsunami beat

There was an eel on electric guitar
And the lobster was a keyboard star
When the whole band started to rave
I went splish splashin home on the crest of a giant wave

Play it again
Wet and wild Tsunami Band
(Repeat 4x)
